In case of dead battery

You can use keys to open the door in case of dead battery, there is also a 9V backup power terminal at the bottom of the plate, use a 9V battery outside can also make it work in case of dead battery.

My Review: This keyless entry house door knob by HAIFUAN works great. It comes with everything necessary to install except a screwdriver. If your old doorknob was anything like mine, you may want to get a small ratcheting screwdriver for those pesky screws that are UNDER the door knob (who designed that?). The keyless entry door knob allows a master code, and guest codes, as well as inductive cards that you press against the top of the keypad.

This is my first keyless entry door knob, and I found it was easier than I had thought to installed. You remove a few screws (note, the instructions ARE clear and easy to read), plug it in, and you’re ready to go! This particular model uses a 9v battery inside the handle to power the keypad and induction plate. If the battery dies, there is also a 9v connector at the bottom of the handle you can use to power the keypad to get in if you don’t have your keys on you.

Note: This is for right handed use. Like the description says, it IS reversible, but it would take some additional tools to do so.
