My Review: I got this because Apple thought it was a great idea to remove DVD readers on their Macbook products. Having an external USB powered DVD reader is perfect because it fits in my backpack and it’s a snap to connect and disconnect from the Macbook but it does require two usb ports to be used. One for power, one for data transfer. It works really well and is quiet enough to forget it’s connected sometimes. Definitely worth the money to have a spare DVD drive, that’s for sure.
